Perspiration Guide. Psychotherapy

For most persons concerned psychotherapy is ineffective. Only very rarely these persons concerned have primary psychological problems. If existent, psychosocial problems are generally the consequence and not the cause for excessive sweating. Hence, psychopharmacologic drugs cannot be taken into consideration as a possible treatment for hyperhidrosis. Psychotherapy can at most contribute to the fact that the patient learns to live with this handicap.
