SweatStop® Antiperspirants: A Tailored Range for Every Body Area and Sweat Level
SweatStop® specializes in addressing the unique needs of individuals who experience excessive sweating and odor. With a wide range of 15 antiperspirants, SweatStop® offers the right product for every application and individual need, effectively reducing heavy sweating.
SweatStop® anti-sweat products are developed in close collaboration with dermatologists. By carefully optimizing the pH value and the composition of selected ingredients, enriched with skin-caring additives like Aloe Vera or Dexpanthenol (Provitamin B5), SweatStop® products are not only highly effective but also exceptionally gentle on the skin.
For optimal results, apply SweatStop® products to dry skin just before bedtime. You'll experience a reliable reduction in sweat and odor after just a few applications.
Proper Application for Heavy Sweating
Unlike deodorants, which are typically applied in the morning after showering, antiperspirants have be applied in the evening, shortly before bed. You can still use a scented deodorant in the morning if you like.
Spray is ideal for body application as it allows for a wide and even distribution of the solution. The spray form also prevents the transfer of skin bacteria onto the product and subsequently onto the skin.
For hands and feet, applying a thin solution to clean, dry skin is recommended, as it can penetrate deeper into the sweat gland ducts in these areas.
What Happens with Incorrect Application?
If the liquid is applied to damp skin, the solution can be washed away by emerging sweat. To ensure full effectiveness, antiperspirants must be applied to clean, dry skin before bedtime. After applying 1-2 sprays, allow the liquid to fully absorb into the skin before putting on nightwear. You can continue your usual washing routine in the morning.
Good skin compatibility is only possible with the right combination of proven ingredients. When purchasing, look for a dermatological certificate and an optimized pH value.
An effective antiperspirant combines gentle and caring properties with strong, reliable action. This is achieved through special processes, such as maintaining a low pH value. Consider these aspects when choosing a product.
How Do Antiperspirants Work Against Heavy Sweating?
The metal compounds in antiperspirants have an astringent effect that inhibits secretion without interfering with the physiological processes of the sweat glands. When using aluminum chloride hexahydrate, metal-mucopolysaccharide complexes form in the epidermis, filling the sweat gland ducts. Metal ions penetrate the ducts of eccrine glands, leading to protein precipitation and functionally sealing the gland ducts in the upper skin layer.
Sweat reduction usually occurs after 1-3 applications, and in rare cases, after a few weeks. With regular use, there may be a regression of secretory cells in the sweat glands. If you take a long break from use, these cells regenerate, which can lead to increased sweating.
Additionally, anti-sweat products with aluminum chloride solutions have an antibacterial effect that prevents unpleasant sweat odor. Therefore, they are suitable for both reducing heavy sweating and combating sweat odor.

EU Statement via the BfR: Absorption of aluminium through the skin is unlikely
- 2014 The German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) conducted a health risk assessment of aluminium-based antiperspirants in 2014. At the time, the available data was contradictory. Consequently, the Institute highlighted a need for further research. The industry was requested to measure aluminium absorption through the skin. A task that proved extremely challenging and required significant resources to complete.
- 2020 On 20 July 2020, the BfR published its final conclusion for the entire European Union, confirming that no aluminium are absorbed through the skin. They stated: "Health impairments caused by the absorption of aluminium through the skin are unlikely." You can read the full BfR Opinion 030/2020 of 20 July 2020 here.
- 2023 This safety assessment was further confirmed and solidified at EU level by the Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS) (Opinion 045/2023). View the SCCS Opinion 045/2023 here.
In summary: when applied correctly to healthy skin (avoiding freshly shaved skin), the use of these products is entirely safe.
Which Product Is Right for Me?
Choosing the optimal prodcut depends heavily on the specific body area and the extent of sweating. There is no one-size-fits-all product suitable for all body areas, as we sweat differently in various areas. Therefore, it is important to adjust the dosage form and concentration of the antiperspirant to individual needs.
SweatStop® Antiperspirants: Specially developed for every body part and every sweating concern.
SweatStop® offers a diverse range of products specifically tailored to meet these varying requirements.
Antiperspirant for underarm sweat
For individuals suffering from heavy underarm sweating, the top recommendation is the SweatStop® Aloe Vera Forte Comfort Spray. This vegan product provides effective protection against excessive perspiration and can be used under the arms as well as on other affected areas.
