How it all began until today
It was a hot summer day in 2005: Stefan Menzi and Brice Ulich were sitting on the terrace of the "Post" restaurant in Basel in bright sunshine. During our conversation, Brice recounted his unsuccessful odyssey in search of an effective remedy for underarm sweat. Many of the products available from pharmacies were expensive but ineffective.
A lively discussion ensued: Surely there must be a solution for this...? And indeed, ideas began to flow. Over the next few weeks, we decided to develop our own products to combat sweating problems. The goal was clear: They should be effective, skin-friendly, and affordable.
From the idea to the product
What followed was an exciting period of experimentation and trial and error. We intensively studied the physiological principles of skin and sweating. Initial samples were produced in the laboratory using aloe vera and dexpanthenol. Soon, intensive testing began among our entire circle of friends. Gradually, a promising balance between effectiveness and good skin tolerance emerged. We spoke with dermatologists and had dermatological tests conducted.
Finally, the time had come: Our first product went from the lab to production and then to market. Initially, we worked from home. The still manageable quantity of products was stored in our private garage. As sales increased, however, we quickly had to rent a larger storage space. After just a short time, we were already able to reorder.
Learn, Listen, Improve
Customer feedback, discussions with dermatologists, and findings from scientific studies have motivated us. For example, studies clearly showed that the effectiveness of pure antiperspirants increases significantly when applied to dry skin in the evening before going to bed.
Thanks to this new usage recommendation—and our 30-day money-back guarantee—our return rate fell to less than 0.5%. Looking back, we're convinced we were the first manufacturer of highly concentrated antiperspirants to communicate this optimal application method.
To this day, we continually adapt our SweatStop® formulas to reflect new findings. This allows us to offer gentle yet highly effective products at fair prices – helping people around the world who suffer from excessive sweating.

Product Innovations
Customers complained that no products were available for every body part. Our goal was to solve individual sweating problems with the world's most comprehensive product range of its kind. This commitment led to several world firsts:
- SweatStop® Instant Lotion dries hands immediately after application and remains "invisible" thanks to its skin-colored shade. Competitors have copied this product many times to date.
- SweatStop® Powder Stick can be applied precisely and leaves no residue like conventional powders. Thanks to its complex manufacturing process, it is virtually impossible to copy.
- SweatStop® IXAL Roll-on contains the innovative active ingredient F.A.G.® (Fatty Acids Group), which normalizes excessive sweating. This active ingredient is patented and cannot be copied.

OTOSAN® Naturally Effective. ENT
Our sales of antiperspirants were strong in the summer. We therefore looked for products that would be in high demand in the winter. With luck and commitment, we were able to secure distribution rights with OTOSAN, a leading partner in the ENT sector.
OTOSAN® is a leading ENT manufacturer. This includes nasal sprays for adults and children, ear drops and ear sprays, and ear candles. Throat sprays and cough syrups have since been added.
For over 30 years, Otosan has been synonymous with natural health in pharmacies, drugstores, and health food stores. Otosan is dedicated to ENT care with effective and safe natural products. Otosan combines ancient knowledge from proven tradition with the valuable properties of medicinal plants.
Functional Cosmetics Company has been the exclusive distribution partner for OTOSAN in Germany and Austria since 2013.

AgainLife with Oncology Products
Our SweatStop IXAL® was developed in collaboration with AgainLife. This product is based on the patented ingredient FAG®.
Again Life is a pharmaceutical biotechnology company.
The company continuously invests in scientific research and development. AgainLife products are developed using its own internationally recognized patents.
AgainLife has been active in the field of oncology for years. We were able to take over distribution of these products for DACH in 2019.
